Baird Bay is a small fishing village on the west coast of the Eyre Peninsula, and the calm, shallow waters around Jones Island are home to resident colonies of Australian sea lions and bottlenose dolphins. Small groups of no more than 20 guests snorkel alongside both species on the same tour, making this one of very few places in the world where that double encounter is possible.

Tours operate daily from 1 October to 30 April, departing in the morning with an afternoon session added in peak periods. The guided half-day includes all snorkel equipment, a safety briefing, and experienced naturalist guides. Non-swimmers can participate from the boat.

The sea lions at Baird Bay are wild and free-roaming, they choose to interact or not, which makes each encounter different and entirely authentic. Dolphins are present year-round in the bay and routinely approach snorkellers with curiosity.

Accommodation is available on-site at the Baird Bay villas for those who want to arrive the evening before and spend more time exploring the surrounding coastline.
