The Solar Express is the electric, solar-powered train that carries visitors along the Busselton Jetty and back, offering a unique perspective over the turquoise waters of Geographe Bay. As one of the only solar-powered jetty trains of its kind in Australia, it combines environmental innovation with an iconic journey along one of the country's most beloved heritage structures. The 45-minute return trip is narrated by the driver throughout.

Each carriage of the train seats passengers in comfortable, open-sided seats, providing unobstructed views of the bay in both directions. On a clear day the trip offers sweeping vistas back to the Busselton foreshore and out across Geographe Bay toward the distant Cape Naturaliste headland. Departures are scheduled from the Interpretive Centre at the shore end of the jetty.

The train ticket doubles as a Jetty Day Pass, meaning riders can disembark at the far end and spend as long as they like walking the jetty before catching a later train back. The turnaround point is close to the Underwater Observatory entrance, allowing passengers to combine the train experience with an observatory tour by purchasing the combined ticket. Advance booking is recommended in peak summer periods.

Wheelchair users are accommodated through designated spaces in the middle carriage. A public holiday surcharge applies to train tickets.
