Nestled against the foothills of kunanyi in South Hobart, Cascade Brewery has been producing beer since 1824, making it the oldest continuously operating brewery in Australia. The Gothic Revival building is one of the most photographed in Tasmania, and guided tours take visitors inside to discover how the brewery has shaped both Hobart and Australian brewing history.

The brewery tour departs from the Cascade Brewery Bar and takes guests through the production floor, explaining the brewing process from malted barley to finished product. A tasting session follows, sampling several of Cascade's signature beers and ciders. The brewery is also home to one of Australia's longest-running beer recipes.

The on-site Cascade Brewhouse restaurant serves a menu crafted to complement the beer range, using locally sourced Tasmanian ingredients. The bar, gardens, and dining areas are open to all visitors, whether or not they join a tour.

Tours are restricted to guests aged 18 and over and require closed flat shoes and covered legs for safety on the production floor. A heritage history tour is available for families with children, providing access to the grounds and historic buildings without entering the brewery floor. Bookings are recommended and can be made through the official website.
