Caversham Wildlife Park
Meet Australia's native animals
schedule 1 min read / Updated Jun 2026
Caversham Wildlife Park, inside the sprawling Whiteman Park reserve, is home to more than 200 species and around 2,000 native animals, birds, and reptiles. Visitors can hand-feed kangaroos, meet wombats, attend daily farm shows, and get up close with koalas, making it one of the most hands-on wildlife encounters available near Perth.
The park has been family-owned and operated since 1988 and has grown into Western Australia's largest privately owned native wildlife collection. All included activities, kangaroo feeding, farm shows, wombat interactions, koala meet-and-greets, and penguin keeper talks, are covered by the one admission price, with no surprise extra charges around the park.
With last entry at 3:30pm, the park recommends arriving before 2pm to enjoy the full range of experiences. It is an easy 30-minute drive from central Perth and is particularly popular with families travelling with children who want a genuine encounter with Australian wildlife rather than a purely observational zoo experience.
