Dreamworld
Australia's biggest theme park
schedule 1 min read / Updated Jun 2026
Dreamworld in Coomera is Australia's largest theme park, combining an extraordinary array of thrill rides with up-close wildlife encounters at Tiger Island, where the Gold Coast's only tiger habitat lives. Significant investment in new worlds and attractions in recent years has added the Steel Taipan swing-launch coaster, King Claw mega gyro-swing and the new Rivertown precinct.
Steel Taipan is Dreamworld's flagship coaster, a swing-launch ride that hurls guests forward, backward, then forward again through four inversions. King Claw is now the largest mega gyro-swing in the Southern Hemisphere. Serpent Slayer subjects riders to strong G-forces through multiple flips, and the Giant Drop is one of the tallest free-fall rides in the country.
The Rivertown precinct introduced Jungle Rush, a family thrill coaster with forward and backward launch elements, broadening the park's appeal beyond hardcore thrill-seekers. The wildlife side of the park features native koalas, kangaroos and crocodiles alongside the tigers at Tiger Island, giving families a genuine wildlife experience without leaving the park.
Dreamworld is open every day except Christmas Day and ANZAC Day, with a calendar of school holiday events and limited-capacity special experiences available to pre-book online. Tickets purchased online are substantially cheaper than gate prices.
