Lake Pertobe Adventure Playground sprawls across eight hectares of parkland on Pertobe Road, right on Warrnambool's foreshore. A beloved family destination open year-round, it combines a large free adventure playground with motorboat hire, mini golf, lawn tennis, a skateboard park, walking paths around the lakes, and free electric barbecues in a setting just minutes from the beach.
The playground is the heart of the Lake Pertobe precinct and features a 9-metre tower with an enclosed slide, giant slides, flying foxes, a maze, climbing structures, a water splash area, swings including an all-abilities harness swing, a wheelchair-accessible carousel, and a network of accessible footpaths. The entire playground is free to use, with Changing Places facilities available.
Motorboat hire on the lake is a perennial favourite, running on weekends and school holidays weather permitting. The lake is also ringed by a pleasant walking track, and the broader precinct connects directly onto the foreshore promenade for those wanting a longer stroll.
The precinct is close to the start of Warrnambool's 5.7-kilometre Foreshore Promenade, which runs from the Breakwater all the way to Logans Beach. Parking is available on site, and the location is flat and easy to navigate for families with prams and wheelchairs.
