Free tastings, handmade chocolate
schedule 1 min read / Updated Jun 2026
Opened in 1999 at their original Metricup property, the Margaret River Chocolate Company lets visitors watch chocolatiers at work through a production viewing window, sample a wide range of handmade chocolates at no cost, and browse over 200 premium products. Entry and tastings are completely free, making it an easy and popular stop for families and food lovers travelling along Caves Road.
The flagship factory and cafe sits on Harmans Mill Road, surrounded by the vineyard country of the northern Margaret River region. A glass viewing window provides a clear line of sight to the production floor, where staff craft truffles, bars, and seasonal creations throughout the day. The complimentary tasting station is generously stocked with a rotating selection of milk, dark, and white chocolate products.
The on-site cafe serves coffee, ice cream, and light meals with indoor and outdoor seating set among gardens. The retail shop carries the full product range, including seasonal and gift lines. Everything is made on site at the Metricup facility.
For families, the combination of free tastings, a comfortable cafe, and a live production viewing experience makes it a reliable all-weather stop that suits children and adults equally well. Closed Christmas Day only.
