The Pelverata Falls Track leads walkers through dense eucalyptus forest into a narrow gorge where a 100-metre cascade tumbles over a fortress wall of dolerite rock. Located just 30 minutes from Hobart and 20 minutes from Huonville, it is one of the most accessible wilderness walks in the Huon Valley region.

The return track covers around 5.2 kilometres with a Grade 3 difficulty rating, taking most walkers two to three hours. The path begins as a formed earthen track before narrowing and becoming rockier as it descends into the gorge, requiring some scrambling and careful footing near the falls. After significant rainfall the creek crossings run full and the final approach becomes slippery, adding to the sense of adventure.

The falls are at their most spectacular in winter and spring when the gorge runs with full force. In dry summers the cascade can reduce to a trickle, so late autumn through early spring is the recommended visiting window. Entry is free, no facilities exist at the trailhead, and dogs are welcome on a lead.
